ISSUANCE OF NATIONAL IDENTITY CARDS (ID’s) (CLICK HERE)
The Kenya High Commission is now processing issuance of National Identity Cards. The processing of a National Identity Card will take approximately six to eight weeks from the date of application.
All applicants are required to pay a processing fee of thirty Pounds (£30) and each applicant has to appear in person.
Applications for the National ID’s will only be accepted on Monday & Tuesday of the week.

CHINA - OLYMPICS 2008

The 2008 performance saw Kenya emerge number 15 overall and the best in Africa with 14 medals, five gold, five silver and four bronze. This was the best ever since the country debuted in the Games 52 years ago.

ATHENS - OLYMPICS 2004

The team finished 41 with a single gold medal, four silver and two bronze medals. Ezekiel Kemboi won gold in the 3,000 metres steeplechase. Bernard Lagat (1,500m), Isabella Ochichi (5,000m), Catherine Ndereba (marathon) and Brimin Kipruto (3,000m-sc) settled for silver while Eliud Kipchoge (5,000m) and Paul Kipsiele (3,000m SC) got bronze.

SYDNEY - OLYMPICS 2000

Kenya won two gold, three silver and two bronze. Gold came via Noah Ng’eny (1500m) and Reuben Kosgei (3000m sc). Paul Tergat (10,000m) Boit Kipketer (3000m sc) and Erick Wainaina (marathon) settled for silver while Joyce Chepchumba (marathon) and Bernard Lagat won bronze.

ATLANTA - OLYMPICS 1996

Kenya won one gold medal from soldier Joseph Keter (3000m sc) and three silver from Paul Tergat (10,000m), Paul Bitok (5000m) and Pauline Konga (5000m).

BARCELONA - OLYMPICS 1992

The performance saw Mathew Birir and William Tanui winning gold in 3000m sc and 800m respectively. Patrick sang won silver in 3000m sc while William Mutwol settled for bronze in the same event.

SEOUL, KOREA - OLYMPICS 1988

A total of nine medals, five gold, two silver and two bronze were enough to announce Kenya’s return. Gold medallists: John Ngugi (5000m),Paul Ereng (800m), Julius Kariuki (3000m sc), Peter Rono (1500m) and boxer Robert Wangila. Douglas Wakiihuri (marathon) and Peter Koech got silver with Kimeli Kipkemboi (10,000m) and boxer Chris Sande, bronze.

LOS ANGELES - OLYMPICS 1984

Julius Korir won the only gold in steeplechase while boxer Ibrahim "Surf" Bilali settled for bronze.

MONTREAL - OLYMPICS 1976

Kenyan sportsmen and women were recalled back home to join 18 other countries to protest New Zealand’s relations with South Africa.

MUNICH - OLYMPICS 1972

Kipchoge won gold in the 3000m sc with combination of Julius Sang, Robert Ouko, Charles Asati and Nyamau winning the same in 4x400.

MEXICO - OLYMPICS 1968

Kenya used the occasion to assert its supremacy in track and field coming second after USA out of a total of 118 nations. A total of eight medals were won and the late Naftali Temu became the first Kenyan to win Olympic gold in 10,000m. Amos Biwott gave Kenya another gold in 3000m sc while Kipchoge Keino added a gold in1500m. Keino collected silver in 5000m with Kiprugut Chumo winning the same in 800m. Temu also combined with Daniel Rudisha, Hezekiah Nyamau and Charles Asati to settle for silver in the 4x400m.
