It is with great pleasure that I present the Kenya High Commission, London’s Service Charter (download pdf).

The Kenya High Commission, London, was established to promote and enhance Kenya’s bilateral relations with the United Kingdom, Switzerland and our multilateral engagements within the Commonwealth and the International Maritime Organisation.

Today, the Kenya High Commission is a product of a paradigm shift in Kenya’s Foreign Policy re-orientation toward Economic Diplomacy as captured in our national development strategy - ‘Vision 2030’ and is based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Strategic Plan and Foreign Policy.

The Service Charter clearly defines the Kenya High Commission, London’s mandate to its clients; details the core function of the High Commission; and articulates our commitment to efficiently respond to our customer’s needs.

The Charter defines the benchmarks for the Kenya High Commission, London’s Annual Performance Evaluation and the ‘Huduma Bora ni Haki Yako’ citizen Service Delivery Charter.

This charter is subject to regular reviews, as we seek to elevate our service delivery in response to the dynamic needs of our clients and the evolving demands of 21st century diplomacy.

I welcome your suggestions and comments on how to best improve our services and enable us to deliver quality and timely service to all.

H.E. EPHRAIM W. NGARE (HIGH COMMISSIONER)

I have heard the Prime Minister say dual citizenship process (application)has kicked off as a pilot project in UK(London). Apparently there is very little information regarding this on this website. May we know the true picture of any progress that is being made as most of us are eager to apply for it. Further can someone clarify on whether it will still be necessary to acquire another passport if one has an old but valid Kenyan passport which was not returned on acquisition of another country's citizenship.
    Many thanks

I would like to know when ppl will start using their dual citizenship?
  • mwanaidi
whereas my husband obtained a new passport in 12 days flat, it will be FIVE MONTHS since i applied for mine under the same circumstances. I supplied all documents required and they were all accepted. When i finally get to speak to someone on the phone and re-tell my whole story again, they say collect all my details and say "give it another week."
what makes me mad is that I know the embassy can do a quick job if it so chooses.

In the mean time i remain jobless and depressed and is nothing i can do about it.Navumilia kuwa mKenya!

I was very pleased with the service from the embassy to obtain my visa for my trip to Kenya in april. Now I would like to invite my friend in Nairobi for a holiday here what information do i have to supply so that she can obtain a visa to visit UK.
    thank you.
  • Ayubsotta  - Dual Citizenship
    Well formatted web site.
How does one negoatiate your web site to get on to the questions and answers regarding recently passed law which allows of dual Nationality.
Born bred in Mombasa, I left Kenya in 1965 to come to UK and have since obtained a UK Citizenship, at the time of of my UK Citizenship, the law of Kenyan would not allow me to keep my Kenyan citizenship of birth.
I beleieve I can regain my Kenyan Citizenship, but how do I go about it.
    PLEASE HELP
  • sameer  - Letter of Good conduct
I applied for letter of good conduct 2months back. paid all relevant fees and sent all documents. I inquired and was told not to find out till 8weeks expire. Now its over 8 weeks and when u call all departments at the commission. There is no answer??? KHC was so efficient with passport issue and I had it in a month. But I am very dissatisfied with the letter of good conduct as employers demand that and I cant even get a call through. I cant apply for job in my field without it. Have to visit the office now again...Can you please also offer a number for someone at the KHC who will listen to our pleads in such touchy matters please. thank you.
  • sameer  - Feedback from Kenya High Commission
I was very pleased with the passport services for our embassy in London. Good work. Though I must point out that for a letter of good conduct the fingerprinting services should be offered by KHC at a reasonable fee and not from a local police station in UK. Also if the KHC can acknowledge receipt of any documents we send?? that would be great. overally well done KHC London!!

    regards

    sameer
  • A.Swaleh.Paralegal  - Dual Nationality for our Diaspora Kids!
Now that our new promulgated contitution allows Dual Nationality; then it would be appropriate for the KHC website "FAQ's" under
main menu to reflect the law.

Its still showing the Old section 90 Constitution which informs users that a child born outside Kenya has to re announce his/hers
citizenship in order to register for Kenyan
citizenship before the age of 23 years. ???
  • KangEthe  - Kenyans in UK
one thing that is not clear is whether the high commission is aware about the nnumber of Kenyans in the UK.
How does the Commission intend to serve Kenyans in Scotland who are not able to travel to London.. especially for celebrations of National holidays and other occasions like the black history month etc..
Can this website provide replies to from the Commission on the commentaries made to make it look more live and show concerns are noted by your Staff
  • TWANJUGUNA  - ASSURANCE AGAINST PERCEPTIONS IN TRAVEL ADVISORIES
Though not expressly stated in your mandate, I think the website should offer information to assure and appraise foreign nationals of the situation and what the government is doing about issues raised in those countries' periodic travel advisories.
For example, the tourist police and anti-terrorist efforts should be highlighted.
It is true that the border with Somalia - like any other countries with a breakdown in security - is unsafe, and as shown by the Kampala bombings, no neighbour is safe. But whatever measures being taken can posted here.
And, am putting this as diplomatically as possible, the footer about "this website......being hosted....." and the name of the HE the High Commissioner's name may look better if it appears say once in the homepage and where it is absolutely necessary.
